GM’s Solar Resolutions Shine Brightly

solar new year's resolutions GMWe all have New Year’s Resolutions … some want to eat healthier, some promise to go to the gym more often, others want to be better parents.

GM’s New Year’s resolution is to generate 60 megawatts of solar power across its global facilities by the end of 2015. And it doesn’t seem like a resolution that will be broken two weeks in like those gym memberships (oops!). The company has already achieved half of their goal and have established clear cut plans on how they will achieve the remaining 30 megawatts. Read more about it now at their BeyondNow blog, which highlights their environmental efforts.

We’re also happy to share that General Motor’s Global Manager for Renewable Energy, Rob Threlkeld, who continues to stay engaged with the solar community, is looking forward to meeting and greeting (and maybe sharing a “Sunsetter” cocktail) with each of you attending next month’s #SolarChat LIVE, the premier networking event at the PV America East Solar conference. For Raina Brett Russo, taking care of the environment is a necessity, not an option. Having grown up in Israel, a place where conservation is required and solar hot water heating is the norm, Raina knows the importance of solar energy. Through her work with the EcoOutfitters.net team, Raina found a way to help grow the solar industry in a significant way. As the founder and host of #SolarChat, a bi-monthly "gathering" on Twitter, Raina and her team have created an engaged solar think-tank community that comes together regularly for collaboration and networking with the ultimate goal in mind of spreading the solar message.
